MS-CIT or KLiC? How to choose your first computer course

18 Jul 2026 · 4 min read

MS-CIT is a foundation course. If you have never used a computer regularly, or you need to satisfy the computer-literacy requirement in a government job advertisement, start here. It covers Windows, MS Office, internet services, digital payments and basic typing.

KLiC courses are specialisations. Each one trains you for a specific job role — KLiC Tally Prime for accounts work, KLiC Graphic Design for print and design shops, KLiC Digital Marketing for social media and advertising roles, KLiC Hardware & Networking for service technicians.

The practical answer for most students: do MS-CIT first if you are a complete beginner, then immediately follow it with the KLiC specialisation that matches your career goal. If you already use a computer comfortably, you can go straight into the KLiC course.
